Split, the city on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea and the largest on the Croatian coast saw the 15th Mediterranean Film Festival Split (FMFS) on its grounds for the 15th time. From June 16 through June 22, this year, 72 films from 30 different nations were screened.

Over 100.000 people attended the last 14 editions of the FMFS, which established itself as one of the best and most well-liked cultural events on the Adriatic. It is primarily due to films from the Mediterranean that have regional or Croatian debuts and are unavailable in regular cinema distribution. The scent of old pine trees and the sound of the sea, sandy beaches and smiley faces during the screenings are all bonuses that visitors get during 10 days of the festival.

The daytime screenings take place inside the walls of the 1700-year-old Diocletian's palace in the lovely movie theatre Zlatna vrata. In addition to the feature films, the FMFS's short film program, which features renowned Croatian and international actors, is given a lot of attention. Young authors are also frequently choosing the FMFS as the venue for their film promotions. The "mali meDITEran" (Child's Mediterranean) children's program seeks to introduce young viewers to the art of film, and the "FilmInkubator" educational program is held during the FMFS and features numerous workshops and lectures for aspiring filmmakers, students, and industry professionals, as well as for other interested citizens.
