SINEMATEK

By: Amadej Petan

Cinematek, which has been delivering cinema education in its Istanbul and Ankara facilities since 2000, maintains its teaching in 5 distinct sectors, with over 15 courses, hundreds of workshops, and the 'Film School,' which gives a 6-month program.

The five dots on the film roll in their logo's cinema roll indicate the five different cinema areas in which we train:

  1. Filmmaking group

  2. Script group

  3. Group for Post-Production

  4. Group for Film Analysis

  5. On-Camera Acting Ensemble

The 'Film School' is represented by the small dot in the center of the emblem.

Everybody Can Make Cinema is the motto of Sinematek, a school for cinema education that has graduated more than 2500 students over the course of its 13-year existence. It tells us that anyone who is curious, reads, researches, watches movies, and wants to shoot, write, read, edit, and play movies can acquire it.

They continue to strive to maintain their "independence" because they believe that art should be monopolized and not held by a select few. Creating a "group" in the realm of cinema, which involves bringing people who speak the same language together, is another aspect of schooling. Because of this, the "Scenario Group" and "Film Group," which they founded with the help of their graduate students, have been in operation since 2009.
