The Beyoğlu Cinema had the goal to further connect with its audience and also always keep bringing something new to the cinematic culture. With this in mind, Beyoğlu Cinema founded the 1989 film club.
Beyoğlu cinema is often understood as the beginning of movie culture, so it is also a universally important point in society. We often watch a movie by a director we would later grow to love for the first time and this point would be where we first encounter the amazing power of cinema. Together with the 1989 Cinema Club, people join together at the events that the Beyoğlu Cinema hosts, such as post-film discussions, seminars, and themed film days, in order to spread the passion for cinema to more moviegoers. People also read and chat about movies together, from movie newspapers to podcasts.

Newsletter - 1989 Gazette is a weekly e-mail publication created by the Beyoğlu Cinema staff.
Podcast - Hakan Bçakc's podcast, The Istanbul Tour, features enjoyable chats with a different subject and guest in each episode.
Interviews - Under the umbrella of our movie club, their customary talks continue online.
